Rosalyn Sheckleford

President

Originally from Philadelphia, Rosalyn has been a resident of Phoenixville since 1975. She is a retired High School Teacher of 34 years from Devereux Day School in Downingtown, Pa. where her Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology has been her guideline for her teaching methods and a better understanding of student behaviors.

She is a long-term member of Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville where she serves as a member of the Deaconess Board, Bethel Baptist Church Board and Secretary of the Women’s Ministry. She is also Playwright and Director of many Christian Plays.

Rosalyn serves as President on the Board of Diversity in Action, former chairperson of the Juneteenth Committee, as well as a member of the Annual Multicultural Festival.

Bernard Sheckleford

Treasurer

Bernard was born and raised in Philadelphia and has resided in Phoenixville since 1975. After 37 and a half years, he retired from the Lockheed Martin Corporation as manager of an Information Technology Department.

As a long-term member of Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville, Bernard currently serves on the Deacon Board, Church Treasurer and a member of the Audio-Visual Ministry.

Bernard is a member of Phoenixville - Diversity in Action Board of Directors, in addition to currently serving as the organization’s Treasurer.

Ginger Murphy

A twenty-two-year resident of Phoenixville Borough, Ginger is very grateful for all the dedicated volunteers in the many organizations which support our community and enrich her own life. She currently serves on the board of Diversity in Action and volunteers with the Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area, Phoenixville Town Watch and Chester County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

A published author, Ginger’s short stories appear in the anthologies Slants of Light, The Life Unexpected and Moments of Love – collections of works by local women writers. Her career has encompassed many adventures as an English teacher, trainer, volunteer program administrator and grant writer in schools and nonprofits across the greater Philadelphia area. She completed her undergraduate work in English at Wesleyan University and holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania. An avid hiker, photographer, and gardener, she lives in the heart of downtown with her wise feline housemate, Gracie.

Tim Dougherty

Tim Dougherty has lived in Phoenixville since his family moved back to Southeastern PA in 2014, and joined the board of Diversity in Action~Phoenixville in 2019. Tim is a husband and dad to three kids, and has enjoyed his time as a recreational soccer and basketball coach for them. He is an Associate Professor of English at West Chester University, where he teaches writing and studies the rhetorical history of the United States and Ireland. He is also a songwriter and musician, and a cofounder of the Singing Resistance PXV chapter.
